Located in the northeastern part of Alberta, Elk Point is surrounded by many scenic lakes and provincial campsites. Elk Point was incorporated as a town in 1962, and has a population of approximately 1500.
Situated on highway 41, it is about 250 km east of Edmonton. They offer their community and visitors a full range of services. Their economic base is agriculture, oil and gas, a salt plant, and the manufacturing of trusses. Tourism is very active in Elk Point.
